Definition:
Fan coil units, abbreviated as FCUs, are one of the terminal devices of air conditioning systems. They consist of small fans, electric motors, and coils (air heat exchangers). When chilled or heated water flows through the coils, heat exchange occurs with the air outside the tubes, cooling, dehumidifying, or heating the air to regulate indoor air parameters. They are commonly used as terminal devices for cooling and heating.
Classification and Characteristics:
Based on their structural forms, FCUs can be classified into vertical, horizontal, wall-mounted, cassette, and other types. Vertical units can further be divided into pillar-type and low-profile types. Depending on their installation methods, they can be divided into exposed and concealed types. Based on the water inlet position, they can be divided into left-side and right-side types. Wall-mounted FCUs are all exposed units with compact structures and good appearances, directly hung above the wall.
Functions:
(1) FCUs are designed to create an indoor air environment suitable for human comfort.
(2) FCUs meet the indoor air environment requirements for industrial production processes.
(3) FCUs remove harmful indoor gases and concentrate on dissipating heat and moisture.
